Whirlpool Water Heaters are CRAP!!

I say the strong statement about my current machine that is suppose to warm up my water so my wife and I can have warm/hot showers because my water heater stop working on me on Thursday night. I got home Thursday night after playing some basketball and as I took a shower i noticed the water wasn't very warm plus i had all of the cold water shut off. After hurrying through my shower I went and checked on the water heater and noticed that the pilot light was off. I tried turning it back on by following the lighting instructions and after 10 times i had no success. Tiffany then came home and took a cold shower and after her many sounds of agony as she took a shower i felt like we were in Mexico again and going through the times with no hot water or in some cases no propane for the tank. I then called Whirlpool early the next morning and to make a long story short, they ended up mailing me the parts that I needed overnight for free since i still had warranty on the unit (now i see why they put 6 year warranties on these things) and I called the plummer so he could come out on Saturday and replace the parts for me. When i got the parts on Saturday i proceeded to replace the parts myself and drain the tank but i called the plummer anyways to finish up my work and to teach me how to do it because by the sounds of it this won't be the last time i replace those parts. The Gas Thermostat and Chamber Assembly had went out only after one year of replacing the entire Water Heater. It was about this time last year that we replaced our water heater and i was pretty upset that after only one year it was already broken. The fix was easy it was just the inconvenience that was the problem. We finally got to take a warm shower on Saturday afternoon and all is well. The plummer recommended me the brand "Bradford White" for future water heaters just in case i would want to replace it, or maybe you are needed to replace yours, look for the Bradford White brand.

February 2009 is History

Wow, February 2009 came and went like a dream, last time i left off we were going to Nebraska. Tiffany and I made the trip up there on Feb 4th, left after work and drove half way and drove the rest of the way the next morning. It was good to be back in NE. Got to see family, watch Jaime play basketball, see some old friends from high school, and just hang out with relatives. My mom fed us like we were kings and queens while we were there with all kind of delicious meals from the mintue we got there to the second we left. We had enchiladas and tamales the first two days in a row for every meal, and never got tired of them. We also had some empanadas and brought a bunch home with us. Jaime is pretty good at basketball, he's starting as a sophmore for the Varsity team, and the day we got there we saw one of his games that night, it was a tournament, but they had to win that night in order to advance and Jaime's team lost by only 1 point. It was a bummer, Jaime hit a 3 pointer with like 10 seconds left in the game and crowd went crazy, and they had another chance to tie with another 3 pointer but could only make a two point shot and thats how the game ended. But that meant we got to spend more time with Jaime since he wasn't playing the rest of the weekend. He's taller than i am already. He got his license the 20th of February so now he's driving. I remember the days when i was only 16, seems like it was only yesterday. The rest of the month was filled with working, church, and some financial planning, we are going through a Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University class at church and it is totally transforming our lives in the way we spend money and how we think about money, its great and we totally recommend it. There is a saying that D. R. says, "right now we are living like no one else, so later we can live like no one else." Period. And i actually vowed not to buy any clothing this whole year of 2009, which is going to be hard, but I would rather pay myself than spend the money. Keep me accountable.
