IT'S A GIRL!!

This is Tiffany again. Yes, we finally found out that we are going to be blessed with a little girl somewhere around the 26th of January. We went in for our hour long ultrasound last Friday and she is very healthy and growing on on track. I will try and post some tummy pictures so everyone can see how much I've grown in the past couple months. So far I have been feeling very good and am blessed to have such a smooth pregnancy so far. I just pray that continues all the way through.
We also found out today that Jorge tore his ACL and is going to have to have surgery on it in the next few weeks. Apparently he tore it all the way back in college the very first time he hurt his knee and it just started giving him more problems with in the last month so we finally got it checked. Much to his dismay he'll be limited to what he can do for a little while. We figured it would be better to do the surgery now though before the baby comes so he'll be back up and going by the time she's here. Other than that, not much is happening in our world.
Take care and we love you all!

Recap of today, trying to get over being sick, have been sick the last 3 days, I gave my sickness to TIffany, not on purpose, but she doesn't have as bad as i do, thank god since she's still pregnant, the 79 Ford is the shop, leaking gas from the fuel pump and needs a new gasket for gas tank since it would spill gas everytime i would fill up with gas, even though my truck is red that doesn't mean its should be a fire hazard. "bad joke, i know" tomorrow we are going to a wedding here in town, our 3rd wedding of the summer, and just relaxing the rest of the weekend,

ANNOUNCEMENT!!

Just so there is no confusion this is Tiffany writing this blog since my wonderful husband doesn't seem to have much time on his hands these days.
I wanted to let everyone know that we are going to be adding another addition to our family. Yes, Jorge and I are finally expecting a little bundle of joy!! My due date is January 28th so we have a few months before the baby comes but I have a feeling they will fly by just like the last 3 months have. We will let everyone know what we are having once we find out but that probably won't happen for another few weeks.
Other than the news of us having a baby we both have been staying extremely busy this summer. Jorge was coaching baseball for a legion team here in town so I was pretty much a widow for the last few months. We didn't get to see each other much but I know it's something he loves to do so I'm glad he has that opportunity. We also have been doing a lot of traveling to see my family in South Dakota for the 4th as well as a quick weekend trip to Nebraska to see his family. We have one more trip planned before the end of the summer to Nebraska for Valerie's wedding, Jorge's sister. After that I am looking forward for a few months of normal before the baby comes.
We will continue to keep everyone updated on the baby news as well as our own lives. Keep in touch and we love you all! God Bless!! :)

Golfing at Work

I'm glad i work for a company that takes time out of busy day at work to take a break to go golfing. The other day we took about a half day off of work and went to the park and had a picnic and also played a round of mini golf, it was awesome to be outside and enjoy the day and take a break. God has blessed me with a great job and a great company to work for where the sky is the limit and the opportunities are endless. In the pic you can see me and our team heading for the next hole. FOOOOOUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

Forgot my password

Its been awhile since i've posted on my blog, its been so long that i forgot my password to sign in, how sad is that. I probably was typing it incorrectly, well since most of you know since the last time i posted a blog, Tiffany and I went to Cancun the last of April and we had a wonderful time. I have updated my Facebook account better than i have my blog, so if you have a facebook account add me as your friend if you haven't already, and if you don't have a facebook account, its about time you get with the times, lol. Anyways after our trip to Cancun, which by the way we did not get infected with Swine Flu, i was still healing up from my ankle injury and it just rained most of May here in OK, also in May we went to SD for Tiffany High School Reunion. Things haven't gotten pretty crazy lately, i'm coaching baseball again this summer and i'm in charge of our church's softball league, with those two things and doing things around the house, i barely see my wife, but she supports me in all this and she knows that during baseball season i won't be around much. This summer looks likes it going to be busier with more traveling, to SD over the 4th, WA for Alex's Wedding, and NE for Vals Wedding, and that basically over a month's time. I wanted to go to Cali for Pam's wedding but it just didn't work out, sorry Pam, i will call you later. I know most of my blogs are pretty long and i appreciate everybody who reads them, recap:

Tiffany has been working a lot of overtime lately because of the mortgage rates being so low, i already typed what i have been up to lately with baseball and such, this week my bro Jaime got a new job, Valerie just got done with her first year of teaching and is flying to NE today, Mom is probably busy planning for Val's wedding and putting on a wedding shower for Val this weekend, and Dad is probably working hard like always and is in middle of irragating season and cultavating, but i thank him for the example of not be afraid to work hard and earn everything you have. Us Galvan's have become spreadout and I thank God that he has us in his Hands and we are walking in his plans. I could type a lot more and go into detail, if you want to hear more stayed tuned or give me a call,

Cruise Control/Ankle/Easter/London

I can’t believe it has been more than a month since I have updated my blog. Things happen in our lives but I need to take the time to right some of it down. Lately we have been kind of like on cruise control. With work and church and doing stuff around the house and outside, it all seems to become a big blur at times. Tiffany has been working overtime at her job because the Mortgage rates have been dropping and that constitutes to more applications that come in. She recently had been on a 3 month trail period to get a promotion from Loan processor to Loan Officer, so she took the Loan Officer position with lots of enthusiasm and zeal and now the job is hers. Congrats Honey. So with her new job and overtime and Easter coming up with the church Tiffany has been pretty much working on her music for Easter, having worship team practice, working, doing chores around the house and sleeping. As for me, almost 3 weeks ago I sprained by ankle pretty bad playing basketball. I’m in a league here at work and after work is when we usually play, but about three weeks ago I wasn’t playing anymore I was being carried out to the parking lot. This was my first really bad ankle sprain, it hurt and it swelled up to about the size of a softball. I went from work to the couch for about two weeks and I thought about uploading a picture of it on here but I will save you the anguish. Anyways I’m back walking again after being on crutches for about a week, and its getting better. We have trip planned to Playa de Carmen next weekend, so I need to get back to 100% so I can enjoy the beach, the resort and the Fun in the Sun. Pray for us since we have been hearing some things going on in Mexico that are not so great. On another note, my parents just got back from London which was their most amazing trip of their lives thus far. My Dad’s first time on an airplane was on this trip and way to experience his first flight with a direct flight from Denver to London like a 10hr trip. They had a guided tour the whole time and even checked out Paris for a day. Checkout my mom’s Facebook and all the pictures are up there. Stay tuned for pics of our Vacation.

Whirlpool Water Heaters are CRAP!!

I say the strong statement about my current machine that is suppose to warm up my water so my wife and I can have warm/hot showers because my water heater stop working on me on Thursday night. I got home Thursday night after playing some basketball and as I took a shower i noticed the water wasn't very warm plus i had all of the cold water shut off. After hurrying through my shower I went and checked on the water heater and noticed that the pilot light was off. I tried turning it back on by following the lighting instructions and after 10 times i had no success. Tiffany then came home and took a cold shower and after her many sounds of agony as she took a shower i felt like we were in Mexico again and going through the times with no hot water or in some cases no propane for the tank. I then called Whirlpool early the next morning and to make a long story short, they ended up mailing me the parts that I needed overnight for free since i still had warranty on the unit (now i see why they put 6 year warranties on these things) and I called the plummer so he could come out on Saturday and replace the parts for me. When i got the parts on Saturday i proceeded to replace the parts myself and drain the tank but i called the plummer anyways to finish up my work and to teach me how to do it because by the sounds of it this won't be the last time i replace those parts. The Gas Thermostat and Chamber Assembly had went out only after one year of replacing the entire Water Heater. It was about this time last year that we replaced our water heater and i was pretty upset that after only one year it was already broken. The fix was easy it was just the inconvenience that was the problem. We finally got to take a warm shower on Saturday afternoon and all is well. The plummer recommended me the brand "Bradford White" for future water heaters just in case i would want to replace it, or maybe you are needed to replace yours, look for the Bradford White brand.

February 2009 is History

Wow, February 2009 came and went like a dream, last time i left off we were going to Nebraska. Tiffany and I made the trip up there on Feb 4th, left after work and drove half way and drove the rest of the way the next morning. It was good to be back in NE. Got to see family, watch Jaime play basketball, see some old friends from high school, and just hang out with relatives. My mom fed us like we were kings and queens while we were there with all kind of delicious meals from the mintue we got there to the second we left. We had enchiladas and tamales the first two days in a row for every meal, and never got tired of them. We also had some empanadas and brought a bunch home with us. Jaime is pretty good at basketball, he's starting as a sophmore for the Varsity team, and the day we got there we saw one of his games that night, it was a tournament, but they had to win that night in order to advance and Jaime's team lost by only 1 point. It was a bummer, Jaime hit a 3 pointer with like 10 seconds left in the game and crowd went crazy, and they had another chance to tie with another 3 pointer but could only make a two point shot and thats how the game ended. But that meant we got to spend more time with Jaime since he wasn't playing the rest of the weekend. He's taller than i am already. He got his license the 20th of February so now he's driving. I remember the days when i was only 16, seems like it was only yesterday. The rest of the month was filled with working, church, and some financial planning, we are going through a Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University class at church and it is totally transforming our lives in the way we spend money and how we think about money, its great and we totally recommend it. There is a saying that D. R. says, "right now we are living like no one else, so later we can live like no one else." Period. And i actually vowed not to buy any clothing this whole year of 2009, which is going to be hard, but I would rather pay myself than spend the money. Keep me accountable.

Whats New

Today is Tuesday, Feb 3rd. Man where did January go, last week was kind of a crazy week. We had an ice storm on Monday and they sent us home early from work and Tuesday we had late start at work while the ice continued with snow, so needless to say people were getting into accidents everywhere and going off the roads. When these kind of ice storms hit here the road conditions are deadly because its straight ice and no snow to have some kind of traction, Tiffany and I had to even push our car up our driveway in order to put the car in the garage, (she drove and I pushed) after our 45 minute trip from work, which usually takes us 7-10 mintues. But by Wednesday things were back to normal and by Thursday everything was melted and dryed up and on Saturday it was like 70 degrees, crazy weather. In the same week in OK, people can get into a car crash because of icy conditions and on the weekend get a sun burn at the park. No wonder people are getting sick. I Thank God that Tiffany and I survived the week with no major accidents and we are healthy. Tomorrow we are leaving to go to Nebraska to see my family. I haven't been to Nebraska since last year in January. Going to go and see Jaime play some basketball (has a tournament this weekend) and spend time with family. Its always good to go back home, even though i have a home here, there's just something about going back to the place where you grew up. So Tiffany and I will make the 11 hr trip home and get away for a while. Pray for us!!

New Car

For a several months now we have been thinking of getting another car. I still have my pickup but i didn't want to use it that much anymore. So I stored away the pickup in the garage (to keep it in good condition, its a classic already) and sometimes we just need two cars. During the day Tiffany and I take only one car to work but on certain days or certain occasions we have to go in different directions and thus needing two vehicles. After having a horrible experience with a Jetta we were interested in I found this Accord from a private owner. I have always wanted a Honda and now we have one. Its a great car, it was a great deal and I couldn't pass it up. It was truly a Blessing!!! It has been very well taken care of and I'm hoping it will give us many more years of use, which i'm sure it will. Its dark green even though it looks black. Now i need to clean it up and make sure its up to Jorge's Code. I just wanted to throw that picture of the garage to show my dad where i keep the truck now and its out of the cold, rain, snow, sun, heat and all that outside weather.

Aren't we suupose to have Flying cars by Now, 2009

If you are reading this right now you are suppose to be seeing a video that Tiffany and I did since we didn't get a chance to do christmas cards this year. The video didn't upload, i waited two hours while it was suppose to upload and i told myself "this was ridiculous, this is way too long." I guess it was to large of a file. I'm going to try to still upload the file or email it, but if not to summarize what we said on the video, we have been very blessed this year in many different areas. Fianancially we have been blessed with me getting a new job in April and Tiffany receiving raises, and just got a promotion. Tiffany is doing really well with her job and the hard work is paying off, i'm so prould of her. We also mentioned that in 2008 you could find us being busy with work, church (which tiffany sings on the worship team and I do the media and sound) and socializing. On about every weekend you can find us going out to eat with some friends or going to some kind of sporting event or some kind of entertainment. We went down to Dallas this past year to watch the Rangers vs Rays, that was an awesome game, Tiffany and I sat on the first row on the third base side. There are alot of other things that occupy our time, like projects around the house like you saw in my last blog, but 2009 keeps looking like its going to be more eventful. My parents are going to London in late March (thats a whole other blog on how they got that trip, for free, i will let you know). Next month we are going to Nebraska to go watch Jaime play in a basektball tournament, he's starting as a sophmore and doing really good. Got 15 points the other night and 12 of the 15 were 3-pointers. Valerie is getting married this summer in NE, hope to see you there. And Tiffany and I have a trip planned to Cancun in April, all of this sounds like a lot but we are only half way thru the year. Anyways i better stop typing because i'm getting carried away and i could write about so much more, but i will type at a later time, God Bless everyone in 2009. Plus we bought a car last week, Honda Accord, great car. Pics up soon!!!!
